
Missouri Man Charged with Murder in Shooting of Police Officer and Civil Process Server
Larry D. Acree from Independence, Missouri, is facing murder charges after allegedly shooting and killing an Independence police officer and a civil process server, while also wounding two other law enforcement officials. The incident occurred when the civil process server and two others went to a home to follow up on an eviction notice, and gunshots were fired upon entering the property. Acree was taken into custody after a shootout with police, and the victims who were wounded were taken to the hospital, with two of them tragically succumbing to their injuries.
