Teachers' Union Protests Disrupt Clark County School Board Meeting
Two teachers were arrested and escorted out of a Clark County School Board meeting in Las Vegas after disruptions by teachers demanding better pay and the removal of the superintendent. The Clark County School District and Clark County Education Association are currently negotiating a new contract for teachers. The meeting was disrupted by shouting and chanting from teachers, leading to the arrests. The CCEA is asking for a 10% increase in the first year and 8% in the second year, while the CCSD has countered with 8.5% and 2% respectively. The board meeting continued after the arrests.
