A powerful storm in Maine caused significant damage to iconic locations, including the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse where waves over 20 feet destroyed part of the bell house and scattered debris across the property. Nearby New Harbor also experienced buildings being washed into the harbor, while minor damage was reported at Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth.
