Investigation Launched into Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting in College Area
A San Diego Police Department officer shot and killed an armed suspect in the College Area while serving a search warrant. The suspect, who was a person of interest in a previous shooting, came out of the apartment with what appeared to be a handgun. Despite multiple warnings, the suspect lunged for the gun, prompting the officer to fire multiple rounds. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, and no officers or civilians were injured. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is now leading the investigation.
