Alfaro double seals Mexico's U-20 CONCACAF crown and Olympic berth
Cristóbal Alfaro scored twice as Mexico defeated the United States 2-0 at the Azteca to win the Concacaf Under-20 Championship and secure a spot in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, in a final overshadowed by a controversial VAR red card for US captain Chris Applewhite. Mexico finished the tournament unbeaten and conceding only one goal, and both teams also earned places in the next Under-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
