
McDavid watches Canada earn its first World Cup point in 1-1 draw with Bosnia-Herzegovina
Connor McDavid was in attendance at Toronto's BMO Field as Canada opened the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Jovo Lukic gave Bosnia the early lead from a set piece, but Cyle Larin leveled for Canada in the 78th minute after being subbed on, earning Canada its first-ever World Cup point in a group also featuring Switzerland and Qatar. The match drew notable fans in attendance, with Ryan Reynolds, Mike Myers, and Alanis Morissette part of the ceremony, and Canada will host Qatar next in Vancouver.
