Apple Plans EU-First Cross-Device Clipboard Between iPhone and Windows
Apple is planning a cross-device clipboard feature that would let iPhone content be pasted into Windows PCs (and vice versa) in the EU after Microsoft pushed for interoperability under the EU DMA. The system would require a one-time consent to share the iPhone pasteboard with a paired Windows PC and would use a workflow similar to AccessoryNotifications/AccessorySetupKit. Current clipboard access on iOS requires the app to be in the foreground, and Apple expects the engineering work to be completed by fall 2027 with a developer beta first and public release potentially in late 2027 or early 2028, likely EU-first and possibly worldwide later.
