New York City councilwoman Inna Vernikov, a Republican representing Sheepshead Bay and Brighton Beach, was arrested for allegedly bringing a firearm to a pro-Palestinian rally at Brooklyn College. Despite having a concealed carry permit, Vernikov violated a city law prohibiting firearms at protests.
