Russian Woman Sentenced to 27 Years for Bombing Pro-Kremlin Blogger
A Russian court sentenced Darya Trepova to 27 years in prison for a cafe bombing that killed pro-war blogger Vladlen Tatarsky, while also convicting Igor Girkin, a former leader of separatist rebels in Ukraine, of extremism and sentencing him to four years. Trepova was found guilty of carrying out a terrorist attack, illegal trafficking of explosive devices, and forging documents, while Girkin, who supported launching Russia’s war in Ukraine, was convicted of extremism for calling President Vladimir Putin a “nonentity” and a person of “cowardly mediocrity.”
