The research suggests that mothers passed healthy microbes to their babies while pregnant, and these babies gained additional microbes from the environment after birth. Additionally, a separate study in the United States found that children with COVID-19 had increased levels of a biomarker linked with vascular trauma, indicating potential effects on cardiovascular health.
