Kirkland Pastor Pleads Not Guilty in $13M Church Investment Fraud Case
Cristian Popescu, a pastor in Kirkland, pleaded not guilty to federal charges of wire fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors allege he defrauded over 30 church members of $13 million by promoting a nonfunctional tech company called Followone Inc. Popescu faces a trial in December 2026 and was released on electronic monitoring.
