"Arrest Made in Brutal Murder of NYC Art Dealer in Rio Apartment"
New York City art gallery owner Brent Sikkema, 75, was brutally murdered in his Rio de Janeiro townhouse while in the midst of a contentious $6 million divorce from his husband. The alleged killer, Cuban national Alejandro Triana, 30, was arrested after being found sleeping in a car 615 miles away. Triana is suspected of stealing money and valuables from Sikkema's home before fleeing to São Paulo. Sikkema, a prominent figure in the art world, had recently purchased a second home in Rio de Janeiro and was in the process of applying for permanent residency in Brazil.
