Monmouth University's Shelter-in-Place Lifted After False Alarm of Armed Suspect.
Monmouth University in New Jersey was on lockdown for nearly four and a half hours after reports of an armed suspect and shots fired. However, police found no evidence of a suspect or shots fired and lifted the shelter-in-place order. After interviews, they discovered that the person of interest was carrying a curling iron that was mistaken for a weapon.
