Nintendo patches QR-code vulnerability on Switch with 23.0.0 update
Nintendo issued firmware 23.0.0 for the Switch to fix a proximity-based remote-attack vulnerability tied to QR codes in Album sharing and Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. The flaw could have allowed unauthorized code execution and data theft prior to the update. Nintendo advises users, especially those without internet access, to avoid sharing Album media or linking karts with strangers. The Switch 2 is not affected and gains additional features in this update, including smoother docked-mode video output and other improvements.
