"Texas Universities Shine in U.S. News Rankings, UT Austin and UH Make Impressive Gains"
Three universities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Southern Methodist University (SMU), Texas Christian University (TCU), and the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), have been ranked in the top 10 of the U.S. News and World Report's Best Colleges in Texas list. SMU is ranked #4, TCU is ranked #6, and UT Dallas is ranked #7. The University of Texas at Austin remains the top-ranking public college in Texas and climbed to #9 nationally among public institutions.
