Dallas ISD Officer Wounded Intervening in Crisis in Sam’s Club Parking Lot
A Dallas ISD police officer, 39-year-old Justin Jones, was shot in the leg while assisting a person in crisis on the LBJ Freeway near Midway Road in Northwest Dallas, outside a Sam’s Club. He was taken to Parkland Hospital in critical condition and is undergoing surgery. A suspect was taken into custody. Jones, with 16 years of service and assigned to White High School, was praised for his crisis-intervention role, and officials say the incident does not appear related to another nearby shooting.
