Democrats Deploy $3.4M Ad Blitz Against Susan Collins Amid Pay-to-Play Allegations
Democratic groups have launched a $3.4 million advertising campaign against Republican Senator Susan Collins in Maine, focusing on allegations of pay-to-play practices involving defense contractor Navatek. This spending comes as Collins faces a tight race with Democrat Troy Jackson, where recent polls show a narrow lead for the incumbent but significant undecided voters. The ads aim to capitalize on scrutiny of Collins' record and recent controversies surrounding an FBI investigation into bribery claims, which were active until 2025. While Collins has denied wrongdoing, the new campaign intensifies pressure in a pivotal Senate race that could influence the overall balance of power in 2026.
