Rapid Spread of Bird Flu Continues in Ohio and Iowa
A second farm in Darke County, Ohio, has reported a positive test for avian flu in its turkey flock, leading to the quarantine and depopulation of over 15,000 commercial turkeys. The Ohio Department of Agriculture is monitoring a control zone and a surveillance zone to prevent the disease from spreading. The risk of bird flu to the public is currently low, and properly cooked meats and eggs are safe to consume.
