Charleston County Deputy Killed in On-Duty Crash on Ladson Road
A crash on Ladson Road near Industrial Center Drive around 11:45 a.m. killed Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Michael Hendricks, 33, who was on duty. A 2018 Ford pickup registered to CCSO was traveling west and collided with a 2023 Volvo tractor-trailer traveling east; the Ford driver died and the Volvo driver was injured. Ladson Road was closed for hours as the South Carolina Highway Patrol investigates. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office extended condolences, noting Hendricks previously served there.
