MLS bans Derrick Jones and Yaw Yeboah for betting on their own games
MLS handed Derrick Jones and Yaw Yeboah lifetime bans after an investigation found extensive betting on soccer, including on their own matches; one bet even predicted Jones would receive a yellow card. The players were on administrative leave from Oct 2025 as the review proceeded. Jones played for Columbus Crew in 2024–25, while Yeboah appeared for LAFC in 2025 before canceling his contract in January and moving to China. MLS previously suspended Felipe Hernández in 2021 for similar violations.
