A Massachusetts State Police sergeant involved in a commercial drivers’ license bribery scandal has been dishonorably discharged after retiring from the department, following his indictment along with five others for offenses related to providing fraudulent commercial driver license tests. The scandal involved the passing of unqualified applicants in exchange for personal benefits, leading to the identification of 26 drivers who did not properly pass the test and the downgrading of their licenses. Reforms have been implemented in the CDL unit, and an internal investigation is underway.
