Sony's Patent Application Language Angers Xbox Fans.
Sony is being accused of using "disparaging" language towards Xbox and Nintendo consoles in its patent applications, referring to non-PlayStation home entertainment systems as "inferior" devices. The language was first highlighted by GameRant, and according to Florian Mueller of Foss Patents, Sony has been using this "childish" and "unprofessional" language in patents dating back to 2011. Some PDFs used for legal purposes also contain this language, and industry professionals, including a senior Nintendo counsel, have liked Mueller's post on the topic.
