Around 150 corgis from nine countries gathered in Vilnius for the annual Corgi Race, with racing, costume contests, nose work, puzzles and a barking showdown; the winner was Mr. Corgington from the United States, who even flew in from California for the event.
Vilnius hosted the fifth Corgi Race at Vingis Park, drawing about 150 corgis from nine countries for a 25-meter final plus a costume parade, smartest nose, and loudest bark contests. Gustave the Girl Dog (GG) from the United States won the final; Mr. Corgington finished second and claimed the loudest bark title, Lithuania’s Moka finished third, and Amigo won the costume competition as well as the public vote, with half of entrants new to the event.
One hundred dachshund pups dressed in hot dog bun costumes raced for the title of fastest wiener dog in Cincinnati as part of the annual Oktoberfest Zinzinnati celebrations. The winner, Ruby, received one year of free Beneful Incredibites Dry Dog Food provided by Purina. The event is one of the most popular during the city's Oktoberfest celebration, which showcases the German heritage of southwestern Ohio and is expected to attract around 700,000 attendees.
