Google Chrome is replacing the download bar with a new download tray in its desktop browser. The download tray appears to the right of the address bar and provides a clearer separation between the browser UI and web content. It offers an animated progress ring and a small pop-up when downloads are complete. Users can access a list of all downloads from the past 24 hours, with options to open the folder, pause/resume, cancel, and retry. The new download tray also improves malware and virus warnings. The update is rolling out for Mac, Windows, Linux, and ChromeOS.
