Tragic Shooting Claims Lives of Massachusetts Girl, Grandma, and Family Dog
A 10-year-old girl, her grandmother, and the family dog were shot dead by their neighbor, Victor Nieves, who went on a drug-fueled rampage in Springfield, Massachusetts. Nieves, who lived in the apartment above the family, also shot the girl's 12-year-old sister, who survived, before turning the gun on himself. The incident occurred after Nieves became paranoid and started acting erratically during a cocaine binge. The mother of the girls expressed her grief on social media, while friends and the community rallied to support the family through a GoFundMe campaign.
