Law enforcement agencies increase patrols for St. Patrick's Day weekend.
Pennsylvania State Police will have DUI checkpoints set up throughout the St. Patrick's Day weekend, as it is one of the deadliest holidays on U.S. roadways. Last year, there were 313 impaired driving crashes and four fatalities in Pennsylvania during the holiday. The Pennsylvania DUI Association advises refraining from driving after drinking and designating a sober driver or using a ride service. If you see a suspected drunk driver on the road, call 911.
