
Fatal Fire at E-Bike Shop in Lower Manhattan Leaves Multiple Dead and Injured
A fire broke out at an e-bike shop in Lower Manhattan, killing four people and injuring two others. The building had been issued violations in the past related to charging lithium-ion batteries and the number of batteries on site. The fire commissioner warned of the danger of lithium-ion batteries and said there have been 108 fires and 13 fatalities related to them so far this year. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
