Crimson Desert used AI for early art concepts; studio promises replacements and more transparency
Pearl Abyss admits some 2D visual props for Crimson Desert were created during early development with experimental AI tools and were intended to be replaced before release, but a portion appeared in the final game. The studio apologizes for the oversights, says it is conducting a comprehensive audit of assets and will roll out updates to replace affected content, and has updated its Steam listing to disclose AI-generated content. It also aims to strengthen internal processes for greater transparency in communications. Separately, Intel GPUs face launch issues that the company says it is working to address with updates and support.
