SSA August 2026: When Social Security and SSI Benefits Are Paid
The SSA has completed four of five August 2026 benefit runs. Social Security and SSI payments follow a three-Wednesdays schedule: those born on the 1st–10th are paid Aug 12, 11th–20th on Aug 19, and 21st–31st on Aug 26. SSI benefits were issued early on July 31 because Aug 1 fell on a weekend, and Aug 3 saw Social Security payments going out to long-time recipients (since before May 1997) or to beneficiaries who combine with SSI. Typical monthly amounts are: Retirement $2,031.74; Disability $1,498.43; Survivor $1,634.61; SSI $736.54. Payments can be made via direct deposit or Direct Express Card.
