'Ecumene Aztec' Vows to Improve Historical Accuracy After Trailer Backlash
Indie developer Gianscraft has promised to make their upcoming game Ecumene Aztec "more historically accurate" following criticism of the game's debut trailer. The third-person survival action RPG puts players in the shoes of an Aztec warrior during the Spanish conquest of the Mesoamerican empire. The game's original Steam description was criticized for its historical inaccuracies and perceived glorification of the Aztec's social practices. Gianscraft has since promised to address these concerns and make changes to the game, including reworking Tenochtitlan and allowing players to choose to join the conquistadors or the Aztec warriors.
