Mobigame Takes Langdell to Court in Renewed EDGE Trademark Battle

Mobigame has filed a Virginia federal complaint against Tim Langdell over the EDGE trademark, reviving Langdell’s infamous history of pressuring publishers over the word EDGE. Mobigame argues the evidence Langdell cites shows only a pre-2010 use via a J2ME version largely distributed in Europe, not verifiable U.S. use, while the company leverages the commercial success of Zombie Tsunami to push for discovery and potential compensation if Langdell’s claims are proven. Langdell’s past actions included pressuring Future Publishing and Namco over EDGE and Mirror’s Edge, and Mobigame says it will fight publicly and document the case to prevent similar tactics in the industry.
