Porsche is exploring the use of eFuels, a type of synthetic fuel made from renewable energy sources, as a way to reduce carbon emissions from its vehicles. While eFuels are more expensive to produce than traditional fossil fuels, they have the potential to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of existing vehicles without requiring expensive modifications. Porsche is partnering with Siemens Energy and other companies to develop a pilot plant for eFuel production, with the goal of producing enough fuel to power 130,000 vehicles per year.
