Air Quality Alerts Across Midwest Due to Wildfire Smoke.
An Air Quality Alert has been issued for Iowa counties until 10 p.m. Friday due to fine particles from Canadian wildfires that are near or above EPA health standards. The Air Quality Index will fluctuate between “Unhealthy for some” and “unhealthy.” The Iowa Department of Natural Resources recommends limiting outdoor activities, especially for those with heart or lung disease, outdoor workers, older adults, and children. While haze from wildfire smoke will still be present over the next couple of days, air quality should improve.
