PeaceHealth has reversed its plan to shift emergency department staffing away from Eugene Emergency Physicians (EEP) to ApolloMD, announcing a two- to three-year contract renewal with EEP at Cottage Grove and RiverBend, while PeaceHealth will keep Florence’s ER staffing direct-employment. The move comes after political pressure and a lawsuit; federal court hearings on the staffing transition, tied to Oregon Senate Bill 951, were underway, with a written agreement drafted just before arguments and terms still being negotiated under Judge Mustafa Kasubhai.
