Kim Gardner hires high-profile lawyer for removal proceedings.
St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner has hired high-profile attorney Ronald Sullivan Jr. to help defend her against a rare petition to remove her from office filed by Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey. Sullivan previously helped Gardner try to prosecute former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens, who resigned before he could be prosecuted. Gardner's response to the petition is due on March 14. Gardner has also hired attorney Michael Downey to represent her on a pro bono basis.
