The Evening Stars Didn't Happen on 9/11
An outdoor arts festival's Evening Stars series in the World Trade Center plaza was canceled after the Sept. 11 attacks; Liz Thompson of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council escaped from Windows on the World as the first plane hit and, by 10:30 a.m., the towers fell, turning the festival site into Ground Zero and ending the rest of the performances.
