Elon Musk's 'X' Logo: The Rebranding of Twitter

Elon Musk plans to rebrand Twitter and change its bird logo to an 'X' as part of his vision to create an all-encompassing "everything app" that may include shopping and banking services. The 'X' logo is a reference to Musk's previous venture, X.com, which was intended to be an online banking platform. Musk purchased the domain X.com in 2017 and merged Twitter into a company called X Corp. He envisions a service that combines the functionalities of Twitter, PayPal, and more into one platform.

Twitter officially merged with X Corp and ceases to exist as a standalone company.

Twitter has changed its incorporated name to X Corp., which is the name of Elon Musk's everything app that extends far past social media. Musk has been obsessed with the idea of X and hopes to transform it into a wide-ranging service akin to China’s WeChat, including ride-hailing, food delivery, and a peer-to-peer mobile payment platform where users can earn interest on their cash like at a bank. Musk wants his app to become the biggest financial institution in the world. Twitter is valued internally at a reported $20 billion, but Musk has reportedly touted the potential of X as a way for the company to explode to a $250 billion valuation.
