US forces eliminate top ISIS leader in Syria.
The US military has killed a senior Islamic State leader, Khalid 'Aydd Ahmad al-Jabouri, in Syria, according to a statement by US Central Command. Al-Jabouri was responsible for planning attacks in Europe and developing the leadership structure for the group. The UN has warned that the threat posed by the Islamic State and its affiliates to international peace and security remains high, particularly in and around conflict zones where it has a presence.
