Joran van der Sloot's Guilty Plea Expected in Natalee Holloway Extortion Case
Joran van der Sloot, the main suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway, is expected to plead guilty in a federal case accusing him of attempting to extort money from Holloway's mother. Van der Sloot, currently serving a 28-year sentence in Peru for another murder, will have a plea and sentencing hearing on October 18 in Alabama. Holloway went missing during a trip to Aruba, and although her body has never been found, van der Sloot was identified as a main suspect.
