
F-15D mishap at Kingsley Field results in pilot's safe escape.
A US Air Force F-15D fighter jet departed the runway during landing and came to a stop in an irrigation canal at Kingsley Field in Oregon. The pilot was transported to a medical center for evaluation and has since been released with minor injuries. The 173rd Fighter Wing is conducting ongoing water sampling to detect if there is a presence of petroleum products in the water. The wing is partnering with local authorities and federal agencies to ensure the aircraft is safely removed from the canal. A board of officers has been assigned to investigate the mishap.
