Religious Diversity in Northern Ireland's Workforce Reaches Equality.
A new report by the Equality Commission has revealed that the number of Catholic and Protestant workers in Northern Ireland's workforce is almost equal, with 43.5% of the workforce being Protestant, 43.4% being Catholic, and 13.1% being "non-determined". The Fair Employment and Treatment Northern Ireland Order, which bans discrimination on the grounds of religious belief or political opinion, has been responsible for driving change in the workforce composition. The report also shows that the demographics of Northern Ireland have shifted slightly since the Good Friday Agreement.
