'Used Car King of New York' Sentenced for Selling Fake Texas Vehicle Tags in Nationwide Scheme
Octavian Ocasio, known as the "Used Car King of New York," has been sentenced to 53 months in federal prison for participating in a scheme to sell fake Texas paper vehicle tags. Ocasio and his co-conspirators used fictitious car dealerships to generate and sell fraudulent temporary buyer tags without actually selling cars. They communicated through various platforms to deliver the fake tags to buyers across the United States. Ocasio has been ordered to pay $324,600 in restitution to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
