House Oversight investigates Chinese cash payments to Bidens and associates.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer revealed that a firm affiliated with Chinese Communist Party-backed energy company CEFC China Energy wired $3 million to Biden family associate Rob Walker in March 2017. The money was subsequently distributed to at least three members of the Biden family and two associates. James Gilliar, a former business partner of Hunter Biden, received $1,065,000, while John "Rob" Walker received $869,308. Hunter Biden received $610,692, James Biden received $360,000, and Hallie Biden received $25,000. Four payments totaling $70,000 were also made to an "unknown Biden." The payments have raised concerns about potential corruption and conflicts of interest.
