NJ Transit to recoup World Cup costs with $150 round-trip train fare

NJ Transit will charge $150 round-trip for World Cup trains to MetLife Stadium to cover about $62 million in extra security and labor costs (reduced to $48 million after grants). The agency says the price is not profit, but a way to avoid making everyday commuters subsidize World Cup fans—at normal fares, commuters would subsidize roughly 92% of the service.
