12-year-old charged with murder in fatal shooting at Texas Sonic restaurant
A 12-year-old boy armed with an AR-style gun shot and killed a fast-food employee during an argument at a Sonic drive-in restaurant in Keene, Texas. The victim, Matthew Davis, confronted a man for being disorderly in the parking lot when a physical fight broke out and the boy shot Davis multiple times from the back seat of the man's vehicle. The suspected shooter and the man fled the area with the weapon but were later arrested and charged with murder. The boy is believed to have used an AR-style .22 rifle, and several firearms were confiscated from him. It is not yet known if he will be charged as an adult.
