DOJ sues Kansas district over transgender student guidelines and parental-consent rules
The Justice Department filed a first-of-its-kind lawsuit against Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools, alleging its guidelines on transgender students and parental notification violate FERPA and PPRA and could jeopardize nearly $70 million in federal funding; the district says the guidance is not policy and is cooperating with federal law as the case proceeds in federal court.
