Texas tycoon family to take helm at Boston's Union Oyster House
The Fertitta family of Houston is acquiring Boston's Union Oyster House, ending nearly six decades of local ownership by Joe Milano. Led by Patrick Fertitta, the deal places the venerable restaurant in the Fertitta empire—home to Landry’s, the Houston Rockets, and Golden Nugget casinos—with terms undisclosed. Milano says the family intends to preserve the restaurant’s heritage and current staff, and Tilman Fertitta is not personally involved in the transaction.
