Fiesta 2023 kickoff threatened by severe storms and power outages.
Severe thunderstorms caused the cancellation of Fiesta Fiesta, the official ceremony that kicks off Fiesta 2023, in downtown San Antonio. The event was canceled around 7:30 p.m. after lightning, hail, and flooding moved through the area. The event was slated to be broadcast from 8 to 10 p.m. on KSAT 12. Instead, live weather coverage and regular scheduled ABC programming will be broadcast.
