Former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo is targeted to face rising bantamweight Payton Talbott at UFC 332 on Oct. 3 in Salt Lake City; contracts haven’t been signed yet and UFC has not announced a headliner. Figueiredo, coming off two losses, would look to rebound, while Talbott, on a three-fight win streak, seeks to extend his run.
UFC Macau opened with a night of quick finishes: Song Yadong submitted Deiveson Figueiredo in round 2 to headline the card, while Alonzo Menifield stopped Zhang Mingyang in round 1, Sergei Pavlovich knocked out Tallison Teixeira in 39 seconds, Kai Asakura KO’d Cameron Smotherman in round 1, and Jake Matthews earned a 30-27 unanimous decision over Carlston Harris; Alex Perez vs Sumudaerji ended in a no contest due to an accidental groin kick. The prelims included Luis Felipe Dias’s TKO of Yi Sak Lee and Angela Hill’s decision over Xiong Jingnan, among others.
