Supreme Court Upholds Ghost Gun Regulations, Blocks Sales
The US Supreme Court has blocked a federal judge's order that allowed two Texas-based manufacturers, Blackhawk Manufacturing and Defense Distributed, to sell "ghost guns" - firearms that can be quickly converted at home. The court granted a request by President Joe Biden's administration to reinstate a federal regulation aimed at curbing the proliferation of privately made firearms. The rule, issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), bans "buy build shoot" kits that can be obtained without a background check or the usual serial numbers required by the federal government. The decision marks the second time the Supreme Court has acted against the judge's order, with the administration arguing that the judge's decision "openly flouted" the court's authority.
